Happy Holidays

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! I know that we sure did. Jacob got so many things that I don't think he knows what to do with them all. I promise to post pictures soon.

My sister Katie, his godmother, gave him a goldfish for Christmas. Jacob was exstatic!! He named him Frank, well Frank went belly up that next day. (I don't think goldfish like to travel) Well Brad and I had the brilliant idea of going to PETCO and buying him Frank #2 before he found out that Frank #1 died. So while Jacob was at his dads on Saturday we went to get Frank #2.

Two hours and $91 later, we are leaving PETCO with one small gold fish, a 14 gallon tank with a filter and a light, rocks, fake plants and who knows what else. Brad decided that Jacob needed more than just one fish and of course we couldn't keep Frank #2 in that small little fish bowl forever. OMG!!

Well, we got it all set up and put Frank in the big tank. When Jacob came home on Sunday he couldn't believe his eyes. He watched that fish swim for hours. He was a spunky little dude. Later that evening we left to go grocery shopping and stop back by PETCO to get a few more fish for the tank. By the time we got to PETCO they were closed so we headed home. When we got home the first thing that Jacob did was go and check on Frank. "Mommy look Frank is sleeping!!" Needless to say, FRANK WAS DEAD. Yep, you heard me right....fish #2 down the toilet.

I think that the water was to hot in the tank so we moved the tank to a different room. So tonight we are on a mission to get some more fish!!

Snow Day!!!

I love SNOW DAYS!!! Tuesday Brad, Jacob and I had a snow day and it was wonderful!! The weather and roads were crappy so we just decided to stay home. We played games, and colored Christmas pictures, and watch movies.

Jacob and Brad both helped me do laundry and dishes. Aren't they wonderful?!

Then we all took a 2 hour nap.Yes, I needed it. And then Bernie made us soup for supper and it was delicious.

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!!

Update!

I don't know where the time has gone but it seems to be flying by. I have been a bit of a slacker with the camera the last few weeks so I really don't have pics and wish I did.

Last weekend was spent baking cookies at Janice's house. We all had a good time but I think Trisha and Jacob had an exceptionally good time decorating cookies for daycare. Needless to say they both ended up different colors!!!

As most of you know, I am taking online classes throught Columbia College trying to finish my degree. Well, this weekend was finals. UGGGHHHHH!!!! Friday night was spent, writing a 11 page paper that was due by midnight. Saturday I had my Mary Kay open house from 11am - 4pm and in between customers, I had to complete my final exam which was 100 questions. Needless to say, it took me all day. Then Brian and Trisha had their Christmas Party that night. We had a blast. If you have not played the game Apples to Apples, may I suggest that you go out and get it because it is a blast to play. Sunday, I RELAXED. (Sort of) I finished putting up some Christmas decorations and wrapped presents along with trying to clean the house a little.

WHEW!!! I am glad this weekend is over.

More to come latere.....

The Dentist!!

Well Jacob had his first dentist appointment the other day! He did very well. He let them count all of his teeth and even pick around a little bit but he sure would not let them clean his teeth. So he gets to go back in a month so they can clean his teeth. He promised that he would let them clean them then. We will see!?

For mom, I wasn't so lucky. The teeth cleaning was wonderful!! I love it!! But I had 2 cavities coming loose. Of course they are on opposite sides of my mouth so I have to go in twice and get 2 shots. That Stinks!!

Weekend Update!

I hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving. I know we sure did!

You don't realize how quiet the house can be when there is not a 3 year old around. Thursday evening Jacob went with his dad and was with him the entire weekend. Needless to say, Mommy is having MAJOR withdrawals.

Friday I spent the day picking up the house and helping Brad. I also went into town for a few hours with Janice and now I know why I don't shop the day after Thanksgiving. WOW!!!! For those of you that went, God Bless you!

Saturday, Angie and I did some shopping down at the lake. We had a blast. We were claimed sisters TWICE!! That is kind of scary although we have been friends long enough and are enough like that it is sort of true. Anyway, we did get some pretty good deals. YEAH!!

Sunday, I lounged around the house, finished homework, took a nap, and watched movies. Yead, definitely missing Jacob.

HAPPY MONDAY!!!!!

Wishing you all a safe and happy week.

Weekend Plans!!

Putting up the Christmas tree and Chistmas lights. Sunday is suppose to get up around 50 so I figured I better get the lights done while it is half way decent outside.

Also, my friend Angie gets off work early today, so we are going to have some girl fun before I go and pick up Jacob from daycare. YEAH!!!!!

HE PROPOSED!!!!!

It's official, Friday night Brad got down on one knee and popped the big question!!!!! I cried, he cried, it was wonderful!!

We have not set a specific date yet, but we are contemplating May 2010. I graduate in June or August 2009 and he doesn't really want a winter wedding so that leaves spring 2010. Time will fly and it will be here before we know it.

Jacob's Birthday Pictures!

Jacob celebrated his 3rd birthday in September but I am a slacker and just now getting around to printing off pictures.

As you can tell he is a very happy little boy!!

He received so many gifts, I don't think he still knows what to do with all of them!

Mommy and Brad gave him a spiderman fishing pole and tackle box but we have not been able to use them yet. But he sure is anxious to go fishing.

Update

Time has been flying by (as usual)!! Things have been fairly stressful with my ex, which is a story for another day. I don't know why some men have to be so damn mean and hateful!

Jacob is doing good. They had a new little baby start at the daycare and he just absolutely adores him! Joan says that he is such a big helper! My little boy is growing up.

Our latest project is picking up walnuts. Jacob loves it plus we make a little extra play money on the side. You can't beat that. Mom and dad have more walnuts than they know what to do with.

All-in-all, things have been fairly quiet on the home front. We have slowly but surely been working on the house. Let me tell you it is a work in progress.

HE'S HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brad is finally home!!!!!! I was so excited Friday night, I couldn't hardly stand it. I couldn't wait to see him pull in the drive way. When he did, I gave him a great big hug and kiss. I didn't realize how bad I really missed him.

Needless to say, we spent the whole weekend together!!!!!!!!!! Except Sunday, they had to bale hay.

2 days down....3 to go

Well Brad has been gone Prairie Dog hunting for 2 days now. They are coming back sometime on Friday. Jacob and I have come to the decision that he can never leave home again for full week ever again inless he takes Jacob and me with him.

The really bad part is that they don't have horrible cell phone signal out there so service is touch and go. He basically calls in whenever can get service. Last night he called around 10pm and said that he had to buy a calling card just to be able to talk to us last night. He said that he was having a good time but was ready to come home. Jacob and I seconded that one.

Jacob was turd last night to get down to bed. He didn't understand why Brad could not come home or why he was not laying next to us in bed. He said that we couldn't stay at home because Brad was not there with us. It was cute in its own way. He looked up at me with his blue eyes and said, "Mommy I miss him, I want him to come home now" Poor guy.

Happy Birthday Jacob!!

Sunday, September 14th was Jacob birthday. I can not believe that my baby is 3 years old already. We celebrated his birthday Friday night, September 12th. I think everyone had a good time, I sure know that Jacob did!! He got all kinds of trucks and tractors, animals, a fishing pole and tackle box and lots more!!! He did not know what to do with himself.

I promise to post birthday pictures soon!

Well today is the day that Brad leaves for his big prairie dog hunting trip. He will not be back until Friday sometime. He is excited about going but not excited about leaving Jacob and I at home. He is a big family man and has not really spent a whole lot of time without us so he is trying to adjust. We will see what happens.

Fairly Calm Weekend!

For once, we had a fairly calm weekend. Friday night, I met my sister Katie in town and picked up a new puppy. Actually he is a year old, beagle. His name is John. Apparently he is potty trained and everything. Well on the way home, he decided to poop in my back seat and then tracked it to the front and then right as I pulled in the drive way he puked in my purse. YUCK!! Thank Gosh for leather seats!!

Saturday morning, Trisha and I went to the Cole County Fall Festival. We had a blast! We both bought some really beautiful floral arrangements for our homes. By the time we left, only 2 1/2 hours later, we had a car full. Then later that afternoon, Brad and I went down to mom and dad's to help dad drive some post. Fun, fun!

Sunday, we got up and went to church and then went grocery shopping at Wal-Mart. NOT FUN! Later on Janice BBQ chicken and we called it a night.

AHHHH!

LIFE!

Sorry for all the blank space. The last few weeks have been absolutely insane. I was out and off work for a whole week with Strep and then Jacob came down with it and I was home with him for a while. It has been crazy.

This past weekend we finally got rock put all around the house along with landscaping ties. May I say it looks great! I will post pics soon.

Today Brad is rained out of work so he and the guys are pouring concrete in the shop. FINALLY!! Brad is not quite as excited about it as I am. Wonder Why?!

More to come.....

Zoo!!

August 1st, 2008 Brad and I took Jacob, Uncle John and Aunt Sarah to the St. Louis Zoo.

I think John and Sarah enjoyed it just as much as Jacob did. We all had a good time even though I got pulled over on I-70. Yes....me...pulled over! I sware I was not speeding:) We took Dad's Jeep, go figure Rep. plates. They pulled me over because apparently traffice was slowing and following a little to close plus they wanted to talk to DAD!!!!!!! Yep, they pulled me over because they wanted to shoot the shit with Dad!! Needless to say, Rachel was alittle bit stoked. CRAP.. I tell you.

Here are some pics from our day at the zoo.

Osage County Fair!

On July 1oth my brother and sister, John and Sarah, showed steers at the Osage County Fair. They both placed pretty good in there classes. Jacob loves going to the Fair.

Here is a picture of my brother John and Jacob sitting against one of Uncle John's steers. Jacob thought he was big stuff, just like Uncle John.

Lazy Blogger....Branson Vacation!!

I am guilty. I have been a very lazy blogger lately. Life is so busy that I hardly have time to stop and think. Work is absolutely crazy!!!! A couple of weekends ago, Brad and I finally took our first mini-vacation, just me and him. It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! We went to Branson. I know it sounds lame but I had never been to Branson. (Sheltered Life..I know) We went down on a Friday and came back that Sunday afternoon. It was short but nice. Our hotel room had a jacuzzi tub which was pretty sweet.

We went to the Dixie Stampede which was totally amazing! If you ever go to Branson, you need to go to the Dixie Stampede, it is well worth it. We also went to Ripley's Believe it or Not. The rest of the time we spent shopping and relaxing. Needless to say, we both needed a weekend away.

Happy Birthday Brad!!!

Today is Brad's birthday. The big 25!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For his birthday we are planning a weekend get-away to Branson. I have never been to Branson and he was very little the last time he went so that is where he chose.

Hay season is finally OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! About time...

Jacob is doing good. He is enjoying his new swimming pool that Janice gave him!

Hay Season!

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted anything. Hay season has officially begun and Dad has had us in the hay field, bucking bales. We have put up around 2300 bales in the last few weeks. Whew....talk about kicking a persons butt!!!!!!!!!!!

Brad and the boys have also been in the hay field. Big round bales are easier than square bales but it all takes time and hard work. Many nights it is after 9:30pm before he gets in the house. I will be glad when hay season is over and I get my boyfriend back.

We have officically put up the new pool!! Pictures are soon to come. (I promise!) Jacob did not know what to think of it at first but now he loves it!!!!!!!!!!!! It is 12 ft wide by 30 inches deep pool.

Tragedy on the Farm!

Last week we noticed that Dusty (Jacob's puppy) had not been around the house for a few days so we started doing some looking and asking neighbor's and sure enough...one of the neighbor's found her on the side of their house....Dusty had gone to doggy heaven. We told Jacob that Dusty ran a way which managed to settle okay with him except he continues to ask when she is coming home.

Well this weekend, a coon managed to get into our chicken and duck house and managed to kill 2 ducks and 1 chicken. OUCH!! How do I explain that one?? Jacob was not home this weekend so he doesn't know yet.

Life on a farm........

New Hobby!!

Okay so I have discovered another (theraputic) hobby. I know, like I need another one on top of family, scrapbooking, school, work, and Mary Kay but hey......its fun!!!

I got into scrapbooking a year ago or so just to scrapbook life happenings and I love it!!! Well now my wonderful friend, Angie, has introduced me to Stampin Up! card making and crafts. You can do so many different things with it from card making to scrapbooking to party favors to goodie bags to gift tags.....the possiblities are endless.
Isn't this gorgeous? It amazes me every time I make a card.

Welcome Family & Friends!!

I have created a blog site for all of our family and friends who we are not able to see and talk to all the time. This way everyone can stay up to date with what is happening in Brad, Rachel, & Jacob's life. As almost everyone knows by now, I divorced a year ago and now I have the most wonderful man in the world in mine and Jacob's life, Brad Heimericks. Jacob thinks the world of him and he absolutely adores Jacob. Well with that being said.....on to the good stuff.

It is that time of year again...Hay Season!!! So Brad and the boys are busy in the fields while Jacob and mom are busy in the pool! Oh, and of course we all BBQ alot.

Brad just bought a house in Henley and may I say it is beautiful. We have put alot of hard work into it but it is home. FINALLY! We have 7 acres, 3 ducks, 2 chickens, and a puppy. We are just a farm family all the way around!! Jacob loves it. It is his job to feed and water them all and by golly he doesn't forget.

I promise I will post pictures soon!!

Well that is it for now......It sure is A WONDERFUL LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
